Fekadu Beyene is recently appointed as a non-resident Ambassador to Indonesia, stationed at Addis Ababa. Before he was the commissioner for the Environment, Forest, and Climate Change Commission (EFCCC) of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia.

Fekadu Beyene Aleka holds a PhD in Dairy Technology from the Agricultural University of Norway, a MSc in Animal Production from Haramaya University, and a BSc in Agriculture (Animal Production) from Addis Ababa University (Alemaya College of Agriculture).

He served as Professor of Food Sciences and Technology (Dairy Technology), Coordinator of the Center for Environment and Society, and academic Programs officer at Hawassa University, as President of Wollega, and Ethiopian Civil Services Universities, as Minister of Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries, and as State Minister of Agriculture in Ethiopia.
