Maha Abdallah is a PhD candidate and teaching assistant at the Faculty of Law, University of Antwerp. Her doctoral research, initiated in 2022, examines Zionism as a settler colonial project and conceptualizes the genocide of the Palestinian people by situating the Nakba as an ongoing structural process of destruction and elimination. Drawing on international legal frameworks, her work interrogates the systematic erasure, violence, and dispossession underpinning Israel’s settler-colonial enterprise. Maha has worked with human rights organisations on legal research, advocacy, and international accountability efforts. Her publications engage with international law, human rights, military occupation, apartheid, genocide, and corporate accountability in these contexts.

The intention is to gather scientific insights about major societal challenges in LIAS on the basis of international and interdisciplinary consultation.
