Yujing Tan is a lecturer at International Studies from Leiden University. She conducts ethnographic research about “doing innovation” the current massive socio-technological transition in China and in the EU. She looks at the role of government in the new economy and how the wave of urban entrepreneurialism is shaping population and capital mobility. She also has a second line of research studying state-market relationships in modern China. She has published papers in the journal Environment and Planning A and has several papers under review and revised by journals from area studies and development studies.
The intention is to gather scientific insights about major societal challenges in LIAS on the basis of international and interdisciplinary consultation.
