This event is being rescheduled - a new date will be released soon.

(in Dutch)

The LIAS working group that has been addressing the principles of a balanced and socially just pension reform will present its position paper on Friday afternoon, 25 October. Instead of proposing a comprehensive reform, the working group will focus on three topics of eminent importance in the discussion: intergenerational solidarity between young and old; the gradual harmonisation of the three pension systems; and the importance of ‘working longer’ for a sustainable pension system. These three themes were elaborated and summarised. After a brief presentation of the text, a panel preceded by a commentary by Jean Hindriks discusses the LIAS working group's proposals.

For complex challenges an interdisciplinary synthesis can be more important and more relevant than technical and disciplinary expertise. Global problems require an international synthesis.
